1998 2.8 boot stuck in locked position

I hope someone can help: My 1998 2.8 boot latch is stuck in the locked position, but the boot is open. I have tried locking/unlocking both manually and electronically, to no avail. I saw that the right-hand connector rod had slipped off the little plastic connector. I put it back, and checked it can move without falling back out, but have no idea how to get the latch out of the locked position. Also, if I have to get one of those little white plastic connector housings, or a boot solenoid, any ideas where I might get the part number? Any help much appreciated!

I did have a look, but I wasn't entirely sure which one it was - looks like no.16..
