Hi All,
I have just replaced my perished aerial grommet.
There were a couple of good YouTube videos that came up on Google which showed the general procedure, including removing the hydraulic pump for the soft-top first!
All went well until I tried to get the aerial back in - I found it next to impossible to get the nose of the aerial in the right place and push it up through the new (now much tighter) grommet.
After half an hour of struggling I finally stopped and applied some basic engineering to the problem

To get the initial alignment I pushed a length of plastic coated wire down through the grommet and located this in the screw thread of the aerial to guide the nose up to the correct position under the grommet.
I then threaded a bolt into the top of the aerial with a washer and wing nut then by simply screwing the wing nut down the top of the aerial popped straight in.
Thought this might help someone else from the frustration and scratched knuckles !
