With only 3 weeks tax left and the sun shining thought I would go out in the Z wish i had stopped at home !!!
We had a nice little run around the lanes and then decided to go to the mother in laws, got on to the dual carriageway near to her home only to be broad sided by an E60 535 who was under taking the car in front.!!! He managed to hit my car just below the door lock on the drivers side buckling the rear wheel and blowing the tire at 70 spinning us sideways as I was just about to exit the slip lane. No one hurt my sacred the s**t out the wife
The only damage to his car is a scuffed front wheel !!!
The Z will need a door a wing and a wheel oh yes he's got £750 excess on his policy

Put the spare wheel on to limp home only for it to shred 10 miles from home

So check that spare wheel you never know when you will need it luckily i had a wheel at home which my daughter got for us

Re: Bad day in the Z

Glad you got out of that one OK. :-o I'm sure the damage looks worse than it is, but I bet the experience was much worse.

Did you call the police? Sounds like he needed a good talking to by them!

Re: Bad day in the Z

blood hell glad your all ok....there are some cocks out there...let us know how it goes

Re: Bad day in the Z

Holy sh*t you are lucky to get out of that if you were doing 70 !

Main thing is you are both ok if not shaken and a little stirred. Did anyone else stop and can be a witness as this guy might turn his story around if not careful.

Re: Bad day in the Z

The driver of the 535 was a bit sheepish !!! I think if we go through the insurance the car would be a write off so we have agreed to a private arrangement

Re: Bad day in the Z

Glad you are both ok. I would make sure you have his insurance details though because repairs can mount up as I well know. Witnesses would also be good as Aceman says.

Hope all goes well and you hearts stop racing soon.

Re: Bad day in the Z

I have all his insurance details and he has rung me this afternoon
If it had to have a new door wing and wheel from a dealer +fitting and respraying i think the car would be scraped

Re: Bad day in the Z

Must be devastated si. I would have been suicidal if it happened to mine. Glad your ok though.Still you have the sorn period to get it 100% ;)

Re: Bad day in the Z

Sorry to hear of your 'incident'. At least you're ok and your wife will be after a shower.

The Zed can be fixed. Best of luck.

Re: Bad day in the Z

That must have been incredibly scary, did everything seem to go into slow motion at the time? :-ss What matters is that at least no-one was hurt, which was quite surprising considering you were doing 70 mph :-o

Re: Bad day in the Z

That certainly sounds like a bad day, glad to hear no one was hurt. I'm sure you will be able to sort the zed out, hope it all works out for you.

Re: Bad day in the Z

Many times I've encountered very reckless lane changing, undertaking and just plain dangerous driving, mainly by young pr..ks in 3 series BMWs I always leave a safe braking distance between me and the car in front and it just seems like an invitation to sweep across and tailgate, especially from slip roads. No wonder we collectively have a bad name! :nearmiss)

Re: Bad day in the Z

new wing and a door ready to be fitted when the weather is a bit better they're off 2 different cars pretty good colour match so very happy overall

Re: Bad day in the Z

Is that why they call it "arm chair motoring"?
Or were you just (sun) lounging about?
