Front wishbone control bushings

On saturday i finished fitting all brand new steering components including the wishbone control arm bushings. Did the wheel alignement as best as i coukd on the drive, then dropped the car off to be properly aligned over my lunch break at work. The guy told me he got the car up on the ramps and noticed that these bushings were ripped and the inner rubber was no longer in contact with the outer! Id driven the car a total of 15 miles or so!

Has anyone had this? Ive ordered the powerflex bushes to replace but was wondering if anyone else has fitted these, and what they are like?
 
They are meant to be like that central part has a space between it and the 2 side bits new bushes have thin layer of rubber which tears first couple of miles and is only there as part of the moulding process.

Im not sure your understanding what im saying.

The inner rubber is not attached at all

No shouldn't be like that in the area you are describing after distance covered i mean i know its not the best design but generally even the aftermarket ones will get a degree of time before failing again.
Where did you get the ones fitted.

It was part of a whole kit from Autodoc. I checked everything beforehand and it all seemed decent quality. Ill get them off this weekend if these new bushes turn up. Its annoying because we have all this weather here this week and i cant use the car 😒
 
If it's not too late I can throughly recommend installing z3m versions for sharper more responsive steering. No downside. They have more solid rubber. These are the ones I used. https://shop.bimmerbum.com/products/

I am very happy with them. A happy medium betwwn standard and poly.

Just the bushes but you need a press.

The other worthwhile thing is the rear sway bar from a z3 coupe which flattens things out nicely.

I want to do this and wish I had when I refreshed the front end a few years ago. C3 BMW sells the solid rubber ones in the UK, if anyone's interested
