just looking over the car and noticed the side lights don't work. I know the lights aren't the originals but shouldn't the inner lights come on when you pull the light selector out to its first notch or failing that to the second?

Any advice would be appreciated

Facelift lights don't have the sidelights in the headlight unit, they are on the bumper. You will pull the knob out to the first setting to switch on your sidelights in the bumper, then to the second setting which will turn on the normal lights which are the ones lit in you pictures. Then use the stalk for main beam which will turn on the lights which are the ones not lit in you pictures. They are working as they should by the looks of things.

Only if fitted, your zed has its side light in the bumper markers .There is a recent thread on adding them to the lights the light has a blank on the back you should be able to see the hole in the reflector if you look closely enough.

Thanks mate - they are just fine as they are

Most Led lights are bright but provide little pattern when fitted so not ideal.
Osram Night breakers are used as an upgrade to standard by quite a few.

I can vouch for the osram nightbreaker unlimited definitely an improvement over standard
And as @Antm72 has said led looks good but focusing not so i have a set here good ones and light colour looks awesome and when you look at them they look bright but on the road in the dark they have no focus and do not light up the road ahead well on main beam . In the dip even worse no defined beam pattern too much splatter.

Edit
This is the link to the thread about converting the lights
