Hello,

I am hoping that someone might be able to help me out. I’ll try and keep this short. I “inherited” a 2006 BMW Z4 3.0i. I walked out to the garage one morning and the driver side window was down. This was unusual in that I always leave the car with the windows up and the doors locked even in the garage. I started the car and tried to roll the window back up and nothing. No humming, no sounds, nothing… So I did some research and ordered a regulator and motor ( used ) off of e-bay. I found a video online that showed how to replace it. I was able to get the replacement regulator and motor installed and after a few quick up and down tests, all seemed to be ok so I put the door card back on and closed everything up. I go out to the garage the next morning…the window is down and I’m right back to where I started. It won’t roll up, no sound, no nothing. Has anyone encountered anything similar to this? Any thoughts on where I might start to try and resolve this?

Thanks in advance for any input.

Hello jacob,
I've not heard of this happening, perhaps you have a sticking switch, coffee can get spilt from the cup holders and gum them up. Have you asked on the Z4 forum.com. There are some knowledgeable guys on there. Mike.
