Rear wheel spacers

Worth searching for TPI spacers kits with longer bolts which are premium engineered for reasonable prices.

Standard bolts are 26.4mm so if you fit 15mm spacers you need 41 or 42mm bolts etc and don't forget to factor in the cost of a set of longer locking wheel nuts ;-)

if you fit spacers to the rear on standard suspension & the wheels rub the arches when you drive down the road they will still rub on lowered suspension as you drive down the road. wether the suspension is lowered or standard it still follows the same curve as it goes up & down.

But on standard suspension if the tyres were to contact the arches under load, they would have had to have been well outside of the arches to begin with and thus illegal, hence why you can't fit as big a spacer on standard suspension.
As the tyre raises over a bump it goes inwards and gives more clearance within the wheelarch.
Look at picture 3, Standard suspension Wheel and tyre outside the arch=illegal.
Picture 4, Car is lowered, means tyres inside the arch, and legal.
As the wheel rises over a bump it gets more clearance on the arch but less against the suspension strut.
We may have to agree to disagree, on me being right.... ;)
Someone else agree with me please... :D

Yes I agree with you gookah, I just misunderstood what you were getting at at first & I think you misunderstood what I was getting at. I now know what you meant by being able to use a wider spacer with the lowered suspension & it sounds like you now know what I was on about ;)

Thanks a lot guys. 20mm hubcentrics it shall be!!!!

Just fitted the 20mm spacers. Been out for a quick drive to settle the suspension, the stance is good now, no problems with rubbing, went over some of our local speed humps with more speed than I normaly do :-bd Will get some pics up shortly.

20mm hubcentrics ordered. They do 20mm ones with longer bolts (£45 - £50 delivered) or the ones that bolt to your hub and you can use your existing bolts (with lock). I went for the latter £60 delivered. :sportscar)

Well the 20mm Hubcentric spacers are on and I can confirm they have moved the stock 16" alloys out by the perfect amount. Very happy with the result. I got the type that bolt to the hubs so you can continue to use your existing wheel bolts including the locking ones.

At a shade under £60 delivered money well spent I think!

I'll get a couple of pics next time she's out of her box.

Regards,
Deano. :nearmiss)

Much better...
