Out in my E89 on Tuesday with the top up and down a few times. When I looked I found this 'plug' on the driver's seat. Can't see where it's from, so perhaps one of our experts can tell me.

It looks like a screw cover/plug. Look around places like Wind Deflector for an exposed screw where that plug plugs in to hide the screw

Yep, I know what it is and what it's for. I've looked around, but can't see a hole minus plug. I was hoping another E89 owner might recognise it and know where it's from.

Sorted!! Because of where it was on the seat I've been looking all around the roof etc. Just got in the car to have another look and to lower the roof gradually so I could see everything again when I noticed where it was from, behind the door handle covering the door card screw! It must have flown out when I shut the door too vigorously. Lesson, don't slam the door. I'm always telling the missus not to, so it serves me right.=))

That is probably why so many E89s have those covers missing then.

Probably from behind the door handle. That's where the one we found came from.

My other thought was on the centre tunnel - the E85 has similar looking clips hiding the screws to hold the plastic on. You've just reminded me I've yet to refit my door handle covers from when I was chasing a leak - they're still in the glove box. Another job for the list.
