Z3 Registered < 1st Aug 98 VIN plate towing?

Don't think you will find anyone manufactures a tow bar for the Z3 if anyone has fitted one I would expect that they have custom built one. If you have to go down that road it probably means you have to remove the spare wheel and its carrier from under the car to get a tow bar in.

Only listing I have found for a towbar, lists fitment for cars between Jan 97 and Aug 98

Watling doesn't exist any more, and the company who now runs in its place doesn't have one listed for my July '98 1.9 apparently.

OOOOOOOH, thinking outside the box a bit - I just did a search for a BMW e36 towbar.... there are some that look similar to the original bmw one... for example see below.

Can anyone of the clever techy people on here hazard a guess as to whether this might fit or not.
