Interesting, thanks for posting. Agree their observation "sports-car fun comes more from control than from speed". Tuning should start with the suspension and brakes I guess.

There are lots of Z3 and M Roadster comparative roadtests in a book published by Brooklands Books - ISBN 1-85520-478-9.

The Boxster is a tremendous thing really - it's daft how much cheaper they are than the 911 when they are so similar. The 3.2S really is amazing for the ££.

I had the 'pleasure' of an SLK 350 for 6 months and hated it.
