First of all Happy Christmas everyone

I just need a little help please, I'm trying to get a passenger seat out however, the seat won't motor forward enough to enable me to access the rear retaining bolts - can anyone offer any advice please?

They are 16mm and can be tricky, is the seat moving forward at all

Are you accessing the bolts via the drivers side? There isn't a lot of room to get a socket in but slightly better access to them via the opposite side...why are you taking them out? Did you decide you wanted to swap them afterall?

I'm taking them out as I thought I'd give the car a good clean as I'm not doing much today although I will be selling them. The drivers side slides forwards enough to allow easy access and the seats on other cars do too so I'm looking around to see if anything is wedged in there.

You will probably find a coin in the runner... If youre lucky it will be a gold one! When the seats are out its advisable to check the carpets and foam sound proofing for water... A very expensive sensor under that carpet, if it gets wet then you will have to sell your seats to buy a replacement...hopefully all dry.

Seriously?!!

If you do get the seats out DON'T TURN IGNITION ON:eek: otherwise you will end up with the airbag light on and you'll have to get it reset:)

No module on the pre facelift there its the facelift that has that.

An update on the seat situation which will hopefully be of use to others.

I did check the runners and although I found a pound, it wasn't the culprit. Strangely enough the culprit was the rear outer bolt - it wasn't tight therefore it was stopping the seat travelling fully forwards. The solution was to undo the front 2 bolt and lift the front of the seat whilst at the same time, pushing the top of the seat towards the centre of the car. This allowed the carrier to just clear the bolt and travel far enough forwards for me to access it. The bolt had never been fully tightened and was extremely stiff!!
Anyway after a quick hoover, a bit of copper grease and the re-seating of the door card, the seat works perfectly, the rattle has gone from the door and the interior is very clean

Glad its sorted but thanks for updating the forum with the solution. So often people post problems, get a load of free advice and then never come back to tell us the answer.
