Recently changed my rear lights over to clears and when i put them all back on and tested them thought i had bulbs out!
The rear tail lights are quite small and thought it may be a good mod to light the brake light section of the light as a side light too to give a better lighting result at the rear.
Decided the easiest way to do this was to change the internals of the bulb holder to a twin connection so i could use the brake light section of the light for both the functions

So a picture of the rear as standard ( no the best picture but you get the idea)

So got the parts ordered bulbs and the holders and after a bit of rewiring got this.... .

Its only a simple mod and theres alot of unlit lense i just though it was a better balance. :)

Nice job Ant, I used LED bulbs on my rear indicators (with resistors to keep the flasher can happy) and also in the reversing lights. Makes so much difference to the lights.

Tony.

Have a look at these Ant. If you're quick I could bring some home.

Very nice indeed :p
Job well done ;)

Good work with great result! Well done!

when you say change the internals....can you explain that a bit more? What did you change out and what part did you get? I always thought the bulb holder was a single unit

I changed out the internals of the bulb holder itself with a twin terminal part.
My thinking was i could use the exsisting holder as it has the earth tabs and just swap out the internal bit from the holders brought...
Brought these....

As said just used the internal parts not the bit that holds the bulb.
In this photo you see what is standard..

You can see in the picture its the far right bulb as you can see it has tabs one to secure and earth the other is just held in place by a melted peg which removes with a stanley knife.
In this photo you see the new bulb and wires.

One wire has to be broken in too ie the side light for the addition side light and the existing stop light needs to be connected to the second wire on the new holder.
Any more info and just ask its quute a striaght forward task to be honest and fully reversible.
Hope this helps :)
