My AC has a leak, re gas last year lasted a few months and I could see leaking with uv light. A guy I was recommended to call said to try leak sealer first as replacement condenser is expensive all in.
So I went on the prowl last night and contacted a few companies.
One has just come back with this:

'Unfortunately leak sealer will not work.
95% of Refrigerant leaks on cars are caused by a failed Condenser (Aircon Radiator) I would estimate it will be approximately £330 to supply and fit a new Condenser to your car.'

Now at £300 to fix it is a no brainer as under impression it's more £800-£1000.
My question..is this legit? would it be ah sorry now everything is out of the car it's going to be a grand?

got to realoem and check your part number and then google that but £300 sounds about right I think - I had mine done last year, cant remember the exact figure but think it was around that mark - I also had the other bits replaced at the same time which made sense.

Best advice is I’d get several quotes mate. TBH that sounds about right but as it’s a 20 year old car there could be additional items such as rubber seals etc.

Tony.
