A quick question, I have a puncture or what I thought was a puncture but it turns out the bolts in the split rims need tightening but I need to know what socket type is the bolt ?

Thanks. Tony

I believe you need a 10 or 12 spline torx bit. This has come up before here but not sure if the same size or not.

This is a 10 spline head, if so it's getting the correct size that you need to figure! http://zroadster.org/forum/threads/split-rim-tool-help-needed.3500/

It maybe not a case of just tightning them up and more a case of having to split them and reseal the rims. Don't go over tightening them and strip the thread in the allow casting as you wil be in an even bigger predicament if you do.

I can see that the leak is from inside around one of the nuts but can't find anything to fit it or anybody locally that will entertain 3 piece split rims !!

Halfords sell a multi splined socket for the rear nuts, I bought both an 8mm and 10mm for the nuts on my schnitzer wheels.

Halfords socket

I have the tool for the fronts, if you are struggling to find one give me a shout and I am sure we can work something out.

Great Woody, did you get a socket in the end?

No Brian nothing in Halfords would fit, ended up phoning about 10 places and no one would touch them because there Te 3 piece !! Then the last guy said bring it down and I would tighten the nuts up but won't split the rims !

Fingers crossed for you, I had a leak after a refurb of my wheels and had to split them to stop it
