anyone know what these are on my Z3

I have just taken of a towbar on my Z3 and either side were these weight things, does anyone know if they are part of the car or part of the towbar, thanks

They're not just weights, they are vibration dampers.

Their function is to make the car feel 'more solid' as BMW put it. They are able to pivot on rubber bushes, and therefore absorb torsional virtion in the rear of the car. I wonder if anyone can tell the difference . . .

I have taken them off all my orebodies and haven't noticed any difference, they are quite heavy.

Took mine off a year ago. Made no difference feels the same. Leave them in the garage
