Hi Guys,
I have bought an OBD kit from BCables and so far I have not been able to connect to the car inside or out. Anyone have any experience with this for some hints?

There isn't many pins outside see pic. So i'm not sure if it needs to use the inside

The number of pins in the 20 pin (under bonnet) looks right and you can read more modules from this one. Somebody else bought the Bcables kit recently but I'm struggling to remember who it was.

edit : possibly @NigeB and @Dobbo - they may respond to this tag.

You should just need the K line and 20 pin adaptor. The 20 pin connects to all modules from under the bonnet but the rectangle K line connect inside the car and only reads some engine codes. Ignition has to be on and engine running for live data to show up.

Silly question but INPA is running on the computer isn't it?

If you keep having trouble can pop over not too far away.

Got it working finally. Thanks guys. Wanted to do the vanos test and re set the service indicator. I assume sss progman isn't supported.

I have the B Cables set up. Have you ensured the Port Number as it needs to be Port 1 on your PC if you are using the USB also the Software needs to be below Windows 8

You would be better of using NCS Expert as Progman is limited

I think it was Simon @Dobbo Colin.

Tony.

Does anyone know where the ODBII-socket in the cabin should be?
And to what is should be connected? (which color cables?)

Thx

Hi Koen, in my 2000 year car it was mounted in the plastic lower steering column cover. Sorry I can't help with cable colours though.

Tony.

I have found the connector (in one of the piles with wires that I have removed from the car), but will need to connect it again.
My stand alone dash would read the available data from the ECU via that.
