My side grill badges were badly corroded and couldn't get them off, so I managed to pick up a cheap black pair from ebay (the car is Topaz blue) with good badges was just going to mask them off and respay the right colour. Anyway I rubbed them down with some 1200 wet and dry and lots of water ready for priming, then I thought what would they look like black but satin or matt, so I got some rattle can laquer and this was the result.

Thoughts ?

Good idea, you did a good job on them, they go well with the wheels.

Looks good. Glad you kept the Blue roundals as would of probably been too much if you had got black ones

Spray the whole car!! would look awesome!!
Has crossed my mind but to much of a good thing and all that.
Wonder what the car would look like satin blue, don't get me started =))

Can't get original badges off without fear of damaging something they seem to be stuck on really well with 3m tape so thats why I had to buy new grills with decent badges turned out cheaper than buying new badges and struggling:)
I have thought about de-badging them all together but it would mean having either a large blank area or somehow recreating another vent slot, have done similar things to motorbike fairings.
Can anybody use photoshop to mock up what this would look like?

Looks good spurs fan, how did you get the badges off?

They do just prise off, come off with a hell of a bang! You could heat and use floss or something, but I just slid a clothe under a screwdriver to protect the paint and added a bit of brute force. Although as you'd be filling them anyway a little dent here or there isn't too much of a problem.
