Bertini GT25 Kitcar using Z3 donor

The weight that I gave was with the brackets. The rest of the bumper (the plastic itself) is very light.
For the moment I have the plastic without the full iron support on my car.
Saves me about 50 Kg.

But I would like to have an impact under normal road conditions as it would directly bend the chassis.
With the bumper brackets, and a small impact, it will only bend the bracket which is easy replaceable.

I hope to have accurate weight figures when the car us finished. But there should be a significant weight loss which should help to add to the performance.
Further down the line when I do a coupe fastback version the weight should come down even more as the heavy convertible roof mechanism will be lost.

Nice to hear you are going to do the coupe too.
Will be the good looking twins then :D

I hope to develop a coupe depending on demand levels for the roadster. I want to try and be clever and make the hard coupe roof replace the rear boot lid.
So someone can buy the roadster and if they want the coupe they can simply buy the roof section, remove the soft top, and bond the new roof to the existing rear section.
Think Porsche Cayman, Corvette C2, etype jaguar style fastback rear.

I really hope I get a chance to develop it. I have a little dream if doing a 325tds engine swap for a coupe version and tour around Europe :-)

Here is a hint of what the prospective Bertini Fastback coupe lines might look like. The fastback should share all the body panels with the roadster except the boot lid. This will mean roadster customers could convert their car to a fastback at a later date.

As it is a replacement of the original bootlid, would it be possible to have a "normal Z3" with only your special fastback option?
I would be interested in a fastback hardtop but leaving all the rest of the body panels "as is".

Great project, great work Anthony!:)
Seems that the English Spirit will never disappear!:scorecard:
Good luck in the New Year!

Do you have any pics of the cobra kit front and rear?

Thought the previous light were already looking nice.
But xenons can of course be making it better looking compaired to "normal lights".

Err, yes, of course they were... :nailbiting: You hadn't pointed the lights out before specifically though for me to comment on ;)

looking good!

loving the jaquaresque front grill..

Its not long now until i get the first Bertini GT25 back from the paintshop. A bit of tweaking was needed, but thats what the prototypes are for.
The car comes back on thursday - so next step is for me to choose the exhaust for the first car.
My intention is to leave the rear diffuser uncut when a customer takes their order so they can choose the style of exhaust they have fabricated.

here are a few options i have been thinking of. What do you guys think.
