As the title says, the BMWCCGB Anglesey trackday is on this Sunday, we have a few places left if you want to join in, spectators are free, if you have a few hours pop by and say hello.
 
So the trip down to Anglesey went really well, we were really fortunate with the weather as it was a day or two before the beast from the east set in, at times it was proper tee shirt weather.

I had fitted fresh front pads and discs before I went, with this along side the recent engine work carried out the car did not miss a beat.

Smashing vid, lovely smooth lines there Brian. I've got to wait until Cadwell on May 14th before I take mine out on track again.

The "M" certainly has the legs on my 3.0. You were up into 5th gear between church and rocket, mine doesn't gather enough speed to facilitate the need to come out of 4th. The turn in seems better on the M as well, mind you, I've just fitted a sway bar kit so hopefully mine should be slightly more enthusiastic about being thrown around.

Thanks Pete, I need more turn in TBH, the car understeers a little too much for my liking so I’m having to throw the weight over the front when entering a corner to get the front to turn in, I’m going to pop some adjustable top mounts on and stick some more camber on the front.

Let me know how that goes please, my car has awful under steer. I spoke to chap that made a living out of BMW's go fast, he said a good place to start with the 3.0 SE is to put on thicker ARB's. If I'm still not happy with the turn in it would be good to know what to try next. I'll be refreshing the suspension on my car later in the year, this seems like the perfect opportunity to do something like that.
 
The steering rack on my Z3 M44 is far "quicker" than the MC. Don't know what the 3.0 rack is?:thumbsup:
 
It isn't a steering rack issue with mine, the sport setting makes the steering more responsive. The rear ARB is about as thick as a pencil so the inside corner of the back end "lifts it's skirt" during hard cornering. This overloads the front outside wheel and the car under steers. Brian's "M" already has decent ARB's, he is talking about altering the geometry, this also should help the front end dig in more. I'm just going to see how the thicker ARB's go at Cadwell in May then test and adjust accordingly.

I think you're on to where the issue lies here Pete. AR bars would be my first stop too. If you can keep the car "flat" you have more chance of better "turn in"
