Can this be repaired? Torn dash clip area

Hi Guys, there are a couple of torn areas circled in the photo. This is where clips are inserted onto the dash panel part and then the securing screws go through. I don't know what they are called. Anyway, I was thinking of using some fiberglass cloth there and then drilling out the holes to spec size then putting the push on clips on.

Will the fiberglass stick to the plastic if I do this or is there a better way? Thanks.

I just found out that Loctite make a putty that you kneed then apply which dries fast. It can be drilled and painted! Looks like that is what I need! It is cheap too.

Things always break in the worst places don't they. Are both clips covered when the parts are fitted?

I'm wondering if you could make some bigger clips like the one left in the second picture which would cover a bigger area. Maybe out of some thin tin perhaps? Not sure if what I'm saying makes sense...

I understand. I might be able to make some bigger clips and drill holes in them however they may still pull off so there must be a hole in the middle of the plastic, clip goes over, then screw through from other part into the clip. The screw just adds tension. Bear in mind this is the IPanel so once it is in - it's got to be good cause I aint gunna pull the dash apart a second time to secure it! The clip on the right in the RHS picture is perfect.

I forgot to post the repair job i did with the putty. I am happy with the result and please note that I did not file the stuff down to perfection as it doesn't really matter. The putty was easy to use, dried quick, easy to file, and seems really strong.

I use a product called PC7 for these type repairs...can be sanded, drilled, painted, etc. Very, very durable.

Where would you buy that product Joshua, Lowes, Home Depot or similar? We're over to Fla.soon and I might bring some home with me.

I had the same problem on a Porsche 928 door card.
I used a fibreglass car body repair kit. After repairing l re-drilled the holes and the repair lasted the rest of the time l had the car. In fact l would say it was stronger than the original part.
