Event Cancelled TFN. The Lakes Tour 2020.

My wife is self employed.
The Govn was urged to issue SSP of just over £94pw. IT has, instead, gone down the UC route which I've read will equate to roughly the same amount with the £1k top up. I suspect that the SSP route will fundamentally change the future provision for self-employed persons and this is why the Govn hasn't gone this route.

So, if self-employed and paying yourself £3k a month, for example, there is no Govn 80% or £2,500 proviso.

I'm planning on watching Newsnight to see what its assessment/take in this is.

I found out this afternoon I am now going to be officially classed as a
Critical worker. :eek::eek:.

We will have depots open as long as possible safely as we have the fleet tyre ,mot etc contracts on a number of critical workers vehicles.
And as such we need to make sure they are on the road .
Stephen.

That's a big responsibility Stephen.

So surely the people who service and repair them will also be critical workers? So then, what about Taxis (Private Hire Vehicles) I. don't know any of these who do their own repairs (a few of the largest companies do) and they need MOT and TAXI tests.

Tony.

Left us all with sacrifices our school Easter holidays are 2 weeks today Lynne back in school till then by the looks of .
Me I am a floating Mot tester so cover my area for mot QC, tester vacancies , holiday etc but next week round up my diary as from April 1st locked down in 1 centre so from then I will have a 140 mile daily drive to Dumfries and back for the foreseeable.
Now plus points to that are better weather is coming it's a nice road might manage the zed out a few days roads will be quiet I imagine.
My biggest challenge coming I think will be trying not to catch covid-19 .

Yes, agree. Follow all health advice and keep safe Stephen.

Posted on wrong thread, sorry

We will be open to anyone Tony but more importantly we have tyre and maintenance contracts with NHS vehicles and NHS staff and carers who must be kept on the road .

Sorry Andy I will stop at that as dragging this thread :offtopic: and there is already a thread about all this .

Stephen.

I got told today when i was servicing a School that they will all be shut till around September as the 12 weeks they have been told to close for finishes 2 weeks before the 6 weeks holidays. Our grandchildren due to go up to new schools have all said goodbyes to the teachers as they were told that when they go back to school they will be in their new ones. So schools effectively closed to all but critical staff children will get 5 Months off

A tough call but I've cancelled The Lakes Tour TFN :(

All those that had paid please contact via PM and we'll start the ball rolling for refunds. Not an easy decision made easy by the PM's press conference last night.

Bugger :arghh:

It’s the wisest decision Andy @andyglym and I know it was a tough call.

b***** :arghh:
Only decision really Andy. At least you have some great routes in the can ready. Hopefully we can all get together soon.

Sadly inevitable.

Just a thought. Many of us have extensive video from previous cruises. We will no doubt have plenty of time to fill up.

How about we go dig them out and put them on YouTube for everyone to see, no matter how good or bad. Just so everyone can see them!

It was inevitable given the situation, thanks for all the effort you have put into it Andy. Let’s hope we can make up for it at a later date.

Shame but not unexpected Andy. Thank you for all the work you and Yvonne put into organising. Hopefully it will not be wasted and we can do it all when we get back to some sort of 'normality' (whatever that may look like).

I was so looking forward to meeting all of you but with the current situation cancelling really was the only option. Thank you to Andy for all your hard work. I am looking forward to meeting you under better circumstances. Take care all and stay safe - just keep those roofs down xx

Im sure we'll all see each other sooner then we think, been cruising today as its lovely and sunny
and us Sean and prob out tomorrow taking a flask and sarnies with though ;);)
