Hi, any ideas on this clinking sound? Figure it’s the trust bearing. The car has a new valeo clutch (which I’ve heard can be noisy), trust bearing, funny little plastic thing etc, slave cylinder and I believe has been bleed properly.

I haven’t driven the car for a few months and the there was no noise previously when driving to mot stations, twice.

Could it be due to it not being used for a while? I hope so, couldn’t face taking it apart again!

I listened and could not hear the sound.... Sorry

There’s a clunk sound as the pedal comes up, if I lift it slowly the sound isn’t there.
If you watch the video again you can hear the clunk about half way through the pedal stroke. One example in the video is done slowly with no clunk.
hope that makes sense!?

Are you sure the clunk is not coming from the drive train...?

Agree here, this sounds very much like the drivetrain clunking.

If you got under the car you'll likely here this down the tunnel to the rear of the car.

Very common with high mileage/old Z3's.

Thanks, but why would the drivetrain clunk halfway through the clutch pedal stroke? I’m not engaging gear and the cars stationery.

Paristitic drag or how ever you spell it. Your taking up the slack in the drivetrain.

thanks Lee, having done a little reading it’s fairly common. Is it anything to worry about? Never noticed/come across it before!
