I know there has been a lot of discussion of discussion about suitability of code readers , does any one have any idea of one that will read all the modules on my 1996 and 1998 z3,s and will also give my the ability of reading fault codes on my 2015 Suzuki S cross diesel
thanks in advance

The Foxwell N530 might do, you have to buy different module for the software.

Tony.

A delphi DS150 will do this and just about all other makes out there.
Cheap enough on aliexpress but you'll need a sacrificial laptop to install it onto.

Cheapest option would be Torque app on your phone with ELM327 Bluetooth or wi-fi interface that plugs in to 16 pin obd socket or via a 20pin to 16 pin BMW cable changer on the Z3. Torque download from App Stores cable and interface available on eBay.

I have a creator scanner but can't use it while driving the car. With a Bluetooth connection to the under bonnet connector to my phone I assume I could see live data while on the move. This would be particularly useful in diagnosing abs sensor problems. Has anyone done this?

Yes a mate uses it on his Z3 with a Bluetooth Elm327 plugged in under the bonnet and torque on his phone
