DME Repair and question about rear subframe bushings.
I made a post a couple days ago about a Z3 that wouldn't start. It cranks but doesn't fire. I'm curious if I made the right choice of sending the DME/EWS/KEY to The ECU Pro for a test and possible repair. The symptoms slowly got worse from the clicking/chattering relay. Now the gauge cluster isn't working and the car isn't reading codes. I can smell gas when I try to crank but it never fires, so it at least tells me its not a crank sensor and is a spark issue. The car has a good battery, coils replaced a couple months ago, intake smoke tested, good relays, and good fuses. There is nothing physically wrong with any engine sensors other than maybe the MAF sensor but when unplugged it still does the same thing. I really want this car working within the month. My grandma gifted me this car and I knew it had issues. But this wasn't one of them until a week after I got the car. I'm hoping this is it and curious if I should have done something else. Taking it to the shop is only a last resort. Last thing also just curious, driveline related. It has a bad vibration between 25mph and 35mph during acceleration. It's coming from under the car and started after 500 miles of me driving it. I think is coming from the rear left but feels more like a drive shaft. The drive shaft was replaced last year and only improper installation would be culprit if it is the driveshaft itself which is unlikely. The rear subframe bushings are shot all around. Would severe deflection of the subframe cause enough movement forward to cause the drive shaft to vibrate violently? I already got parts to to rear bushings all around even if that doesn't fix it.
