Hi all.
What are the mechanical differences between a UK RHD and a LHD? Other than flipped interior, of course.

Same engine, trans, axles, wheels, electrical bits, etc?

Thanks!

Depends which market it was made for. Different Countries have different spec cars from the factory, so the LHD vs RHD doesn't really mean anything IME. Essentially they are the same cars, obviously, but the US market got some different engines to the UK, along with many other things.

As Pond has said there were different engines for the US and Euro markets but LHD & RHD should be mechanically the same

So... if i have a UK (England) RHD in the USA, would i have any problems getting it serviced or getting parts? Sounds like "no problem". 😁

I can't see why you would have any problems at all. Service items should be interchangeable without issue. The only parts which could be a problem, I think, would be parts of the wiring loom.

Tony.

Why do you ask? Are you relocating to USA and taking your car with you? Or are you already in the USA and looking to take on an RHD car that's already there. No problem. I'm just curious.

One thing that could possibly be an issue is the door airbags. UK spec Z3s never had door airbags as standard, they were an option IIRC. The US spec had door airbags from around 1998 as standard. Could possibly be an issue with the US safety regs if it doesn't have them?
