Door Speakers

Hi

I have just removed the passenger door card to replace the wing mirror unit and the aperture where the speakers sit contains only one speaker. The mounting nearest the front is empty. Should there be a speaker in that space as well? If yes, has anyone got a spare they could sell me please?

I'd guess rather than being cheapskates, the BMW marketing department would phrase it "to allow you to expand your audio system to your specification"

It was an upgraded stereo system available as an option starting I believe in 98. I'm sure someone will correct me if that's wrong. You should be able to find the extra speakers wiring, amps and subs on eBay UK. It came with additional speakers with a better quality sub and amp so you can find separate items to add them into your car. HTH. JIM

Bmw's top line stereo system is Harmon Kardon the system was amped ran more speakers and included a sub enclosure instead of a cubby box between the seats

If you want to check, pop your VIN number in to this and it will give you the build sheet for your Zed. My 2001 with the HK system shows as S676A HiFi Lautsprechersystem HiFi speaker system.
