I’m sure this question has been asked however, will ask again. Just bought a 98Z3M and passenger seat to go up and down However, driver seat does not. Driver seat goes front/backwards just fine but not up and down. First question is it supposed to? Second question is if it is, what are your thoughts question.

Get a small hammer and gently tap the up/down motor whilst actually operating the switch. Chances are the motor has "stuck" due to lack of use. Most drivers, once having set the seat to their requirements never use again for many years if at all.

Strangely enough, having taken the top off for use in the glorious English summer, I have discovered the passenger seat in my 99 2.8 has the same up/down problem. (ie it don't go up and down)
I'll give it a small tap and see what happens.
If this 'technical' fix fails, any other suggestions ??
