I'm considering fitting an e46 arm rest in my Z3, we had a car in for M.O.T. on Saturday and I took the liberty of taking measurements and a few photo's too. The only problem that I can see is that the switch for my power roof is mounted at the rear end of my original console but the ashtray attached to the e46 armrest/console would it appears cover the switch meaning I need to move it forwards somewhere. Has anyone done this before and could someone advise me before I buy a used armrest please? Thanks for any info, Tony.

I bought this armrest for my 1997 Z3. The description says it looks like an e46 armrest, but it is made for the e36 Z3, so should fit and install better than a used armrest taken from an e46. I assume it does not interfere with the power roof switch, but I cannot verify that because I have a manual roof.

Hi and thank you very much for the link. Unfortunately I couldn't see a photo of one for a right hand drive car with the parking brake lever nearest to the drivers seat also I didn't
notice an email address to contact the maker to see if they make one for the UK market. If they do I could get one posted to our address in Kissimmee Fla. as we have a rental villa there and will be over in April/May for 3 weeks. Regards, Tony.

I'd be interested if he responds positively regarding right hand drive versions. I like the leatherz set up, very OEM in appearance.

Just got a reply from Andy Maddux. He does do one for Right hand drive but says it takes him longer to build so needs more notice. Says he will ship to me at our place in Florida as I'm going in April so that's good.

Hmm. Very interesting. I'll ping him and see if he ships internationally.

Thanks!

I did mine not original or anything, but it works as storage and an arm rest, and it looks ok

and it only cost £15 :)

Tony did he give you a price ?

I inherited my armrest/cupholder when I bought Zelda and its brilliant, but check out Southernboy's armrests on the zroadster.net site. they've had some great reviews.

T-tony, I am afraid I took the easier option, cut a full size rubber washer and drilled and bolted to the plastic, it has lasted well with no evidence of damage to the plastic, that said as you can see in the photos I have added an additional support underneath to take the weight so it is not taken by the plastic.

Regards Jim

Hi Woody, yes he sent me a quote as follows, $315 for armrest with large storage base. I've opted for the matching door armrests at $30 and he says $16 for US shipping as I asked if he will ship it to me at our villa in Florida when we're there in April. Which at todays roe is just a shade over £200. Sounds a bit expensive but they look great and "genuine" if you see what I mean.

Well it looks like the interest has prompted them to put the RHD version back on the site:

I'd need the $350 version, though, as I (obviously) don't have the coin tray/cup holder unit.

Just missed out on one on eBay that ended today. Went for £186, which is a bargain when you think that this will cost around £250 new after shipping and taxes.
