Electric Seat issue Z3 2001

Hi all,

Having an issue with drivers forwards/backwards movement.
My son who well over 6ft wanted to take the Z3 topless for a drive yesterday when the sun came out and moved the seat fully back with the electric switch.
Today, the seat wasn't moving forward, but does move up and down.
I cannot hear the motor when trying to engage the back/forward movement, so am assuming there are 2 motors.
I would be really grateful for some advice as to the cause as I am now unable to drive my beloved , just when I was thinking roll on Spring.

I believe they can stick through lack of use. Maybe try a bit of silicone spray or similar in the runners to start with before you start spending money.

A light tap of the motor is also worth a try as well.

Stick your head under the seat you will see the 2 motors work out which one is which
Then get something to chap motor casing with and try tapping it while operating the switch.
