Fan Removal

I need to replace the thermostat on my 1999 2.8 and have a couple of questions.

Has anybody on the forum purchased the tools to get the fan off on eBay recently? A little concerned about the potential quality.

what coolant would you recommend for the vehicle?

Don’t get the Wahler thermostat, they have a known issue with leaking at the electrical connector, it happened to me. Behr/Mahle is the one you want.

Also got the fan tool from eBay and it was fine.

I have always used a 32mm open ended spanner and a quite blow with a hammer. It always spins off.
