The fog lamp switch on my 2001 Z3 has an issue in that the rear fogs will switch on however the f will illuminate but the bottom doesn’t lock on. Any options around fixing the switch unit please before I order another.

I had a similar problem with both the front and rear fog light switches, they wouldn't always latch on and when they did they wouldn't always latch off. I took them out completely dismantled switches (they clip together) cleaned up the contacts and straightened a few bits, put them back together and now they work fine, you have nothing to loose if they donwork at the moment! Watch out for the springs and smal parts it can be fiddly getting them back together again.

Im assuming the switch pack prizes out of the dash panel. I’ll take a look and dismantle it.

Yes they just pull out. Be careful as the front plate is a very thin piece of hard plastic and will come out with the switch.
Mine is a single switch with two buttons and doesn't look like it is made for disassembling TBH.
I know because it is hanging out of my dashboard at the minute!
