Thought I would share this information with anyone that was wondering how well they are doing in the fuel category. I am happy with the results but I don't know if this is good or bad compared to other 2.2i out there, or other models.

I have no ideas what I use in litres, but I get about 30mpg average out of mine. I'll have to get my calculator out later...

I'm getting around 29 to 31 mpg out of my 2.8. Like Gaz, most of my driving is urban but out on the open roads, it goes up - slighty

Mine is 2.0 Auto, does about 25, the same as my 2.5 D Touareg also Auto. When they need fuel I put some in.
I put on miles, needle goes down, gas up, pay, needle's back up, repeat. JIM

BMG may have the answer. Gas up, drive home, close garage doors, polish car, polish car and then polish car. RAINING OUT, polish car! SUN's OUT open garage doors, polish car, close doors and go for Brandy!!
