Hi guys, I have a air leak on one of my o rings to an injector. Just spent £44 on 4x upper and 4x lower injector seals from BMW. I also ordered a fuel rail o ring but BMW just emailed me saying they have been removed from their catalogue, are no longer available and no alternatives. I don't want to break the fuel system open unless I have one available. I tried Sunderland / Stevenage Main Dealers. Looked on ebay, no luck.
Part number :

Does anyone have 1 spare for sale or measurements so I can search for an alternative.
Thanks in advance.

I had this same issue, I bought a box of nitrile o rings from screwfix and tried them until one of them fit. I can't remember what size it was, but it hasn't leaked

Avoid NITRILE and use VITON if available.

NITRILE's temperature limit (100°C) is very close to an engine's running temperature. VITON has a higher temperature rating (205°C).

VITON is much more expensive that NITRILE. The difference between 50p and £1.50 isn't a factor for us. We aren't buying a million O-rings, unlike BMW.

These may be the ones you are after...

The size is on the appropriate RealOEM page, I used Item 4 from the page for my car...

Thanks for the tip on Nitrile vs Viton, I think I'll switch my o-ring

Purchased x2 o rings from mlperformance. Used a discount code BF15, gave me a few pence off :) Thanks Althulas
Just had a long read up on yosonseals.com. Viton definitely the way to go.
Nitrile is ok for most things around the engine, gearbox and drivetrain. However the ethanol in todays fuel makes nitrile degradation a significant factor as well as temperature limits mentioned by Pingu
The o ring in question is no 16
Because its a BMW discontinued part, I'll take some measurements and add to this thread when I receive them.
Thank you for the help and replies.
Always appreciated

You didn't include the full page from RealOEM, but the o-ring size is usually in the text. See my post above.

My fuel system is different, and I don't have Item 16.

Hey Pingu,
The part sizes are shown for the injectors seals which I know I can get. However the fuel pipe to fuel rail is not shown

I've had a quick look online and the size isn't shown anywhere that I've looked.

I've looked on the ETK (the BMW partslist database) and there are only two o-rings on the 1.8 Z3 that don't have dimensions, and your's is one of them...

Hmmmm MLperformance let me down. I did try and call them Althulas but no one answers. An experience I don't wish to have again. Numerous calls not answered, numerous emails sent and responded to in a polite manner with open ended responses which give no indication as to when you will receive your purchase. Did a search on their reviews. It seems like if your order hits the right spot first time round all is good. However if not then you just jumped into an abyss of frustration. Nice video on linkedin but reality sucks. Hopefully I can find the part elsewhere.

Autolux Service have them (apparently?) didn't check every engine so you need to look.

I had a very similar experience with this company. I won't be using them again.

Thanks Nozed,
Put my details into their website but it says Minimum spend to the UK is 165 Euros. A bit out of my budget for a 1 euro part.

If anyone has one of these I would certainly appreciate the correct dimensions. I'm sure there will be something generic in Viton out there.
I've put a fair bit of work into my Z and hopefully can keep it on the road a fair bit longer.
Downed by an Oring. Who would have thought :)

I wouldn't go anywhere near ML Performance. They took many months to supply a paid for and ordered OEM cat convertor: despite much hastening by me. They then claimed to have "lost" the returned surcharged OEM cat (despite it being signed for at their premises) and refused to refund the surcharge.
Give them a VERY wide berth!!
