Its now been a month since I had my Z3M R overhauled. This included Vanos and valve clearance work, as well as intake, brakes, and suspesion modification. This work was carried out by Steve @ Mr Vanos. The work Steve carried out was of the highest standard, and the car is now probably as quick as my standard z4M R. It geels like a car thats done 30k, and my backs wheels are even spinning in third. My only hope is that I domt kill myself , others or the car now.

Steve did my vanos back in August and it has made a hell of a difference. It is expensive but it is a good investment on these cars now as it ensures the engine is in top condition with peace of mind.

I would also highly recommend Steve for his meticulous attention to detail which he freely admits to having a touch of OCD.

What does it cost to rebuild the vanos. And do you have an idea of what it included doing/replacing/etc?
Thanks, Koen

We offer a full replacement unit, with modified vanos gears, modified cam gears with requires the cams to be removed, new valve cover gaskets for £695 plus VAT. (£834). New solenoids are fitted ( on to original wiring ) to help prevent any issues with those in future. This also includes a valve clearance check as the exhaust cam is removed.
This includes fitting at your address unto 200 miles (£50 per 100 thereafter), and 2 years warranty against defects and a lifetime warranty against any vanos noise.
Once done we don’t expect there to be any further issues and it should last the life of the car.
If you want to send the unit, with gears and the exhaust camshaft complete, the cost is £495 plus VAT and comes with 12 months warranty.

Its a lot of money, however I hadnt realised how bad my car was until I had this done. No exageration it was like a new engine.

I think the non M engines are cheaper as less to do (no valve clearance checks).
