Actually in Nefyn. My, that took a while.
Model of Z
2.2i Sport
A couple of years ago I moved the electric hood switch from the normal awkward place to an empty switch hole on the centre console. Last week I was lucky enough to break a rib, not driven since till today, and despite the clamps at the front of the hood being a bit difficult having the switch where I can reach it made life a whole lot easier. So, if you haven't already moved the switch, I'd highly recommend doing it before life gets tricky.

:inpain:sounds painful, hope you're healing ok. Interesting cus the roof switch on mine is in the center console any way,but it's a 98 perhaps yours is a newer model hence the switch being in a different place origonaly ?

Interesting indeed, I thought the switches all started out tucked out of the way round the back, my one (02) also has the red LED for the alarm round there, bit of a strange place for that to be as it's almost invisible from outside, not much of a deterrent if it can't be seen. Will get round to moving that one day once I find a blanking plate to fit, been thinking about moving it to the mirror so it can be seen easily. Won't stop determined lowlife, but every little helps.

The alarm L.E.D is in the same place as yours and as you say it cant be seen very clearly from outside. I agree about thieving low life not being deterred. The mirror sounds a good location to move it to .

The location of the roof switch seemingly depended on which day of the week, or even what person was working on the Z3 production line at the time.

That said, all my button spaces are occupied so I don't have anywhere to move it to. I lent my first Z3 to a mate for a month or so, and that came back with the switch moved to the front without me knowing. Took me ages to get used to it there...

Just out of interest, what buttons/operations are missing from the blank and alarm LED on my photo @GazHyde?

My roof switch is located at the rear end of the console. I can't think why they put it there. I don't have any spare spaces in my 2000 car at the front end though.

Tony.

Tony and @GazHyde heated front seats. Though mine are behind me to the rear of the handbrake. Strangeo_O
I have heated seats , ASC, A/C, Re circ.. I suppose I could put it in front of my o/s window switch if there is enough clearance underneath the console there.

Tony.
