Well, after a truly stifling night of constant heat, today’s balmy temperature is currently 26 degrees and rising to a forecast 27. Roll on tomorrow!

Our forecast for the next 12 days is over 100°, avg. 102. Night time temps in the 70s- low 80s. High winds means high fire alert. There a lots of pastures and fields of grass and weeds around me, which worries me.

Thursday evening returning to my car in the work car park, I switched the engine on and the cooling fan came on straight off
My OBD gauge pod powered on and showed the coolant at 73 degrees.
and my oil was partially pre heated to near-hoonable levels!

After 22 years, I've learned to do as much physical stuff before noon, and after 5pm. In between I try to stay in the shade ot in the house. And there is apparently some truth to the " you get used to it" thing. It doesn't bother me now like it did when we first moved here.
A look at the forecast for the next week and the heat has returned. Unfortunately. Keep hydrated, Zedders!

Red weather warnings for 'nice weather'. They can't even let us have a few hot days without scaremongering. No wonder mental health is such an issue!
It used to be called 'global warming' a few years ago, before that it was all about the 'ozone layer'.
I am looking forward to what we are gonna call it next year. "Extinction weather"? Has a cheery ring to it.
And wait till Wednesday.....hosepipe bans everywhere. Thursday....official drought. Friday......recommend making a contraption from cling film to condense water from the air for drinking. Never any mention of the millions of gallons of water lost through mains leaks every month, which we pay handsomely for.
Or the water that a village or town can consume in a year gone to a (one) AI data centre in a day as the powers-that-be (corrupt and self-serving globalists) decide to rid us of this once green land as more data centres are built across our fair and pleasant land. One the size of Durham. Then there’s the electricity these data centres consume but we must not use tumble dryers, cut back on our fuel usage as we have the highest rip-off costs anywhere in Europe, etc, etc…oh, this green and pleasant land.
