I was planning to carbon wrap my hardtop, but my son calls me ricer then.

I told my son that I was planning to carbon wrap my hardtop and plasti dip my rims. But my son said if you do that you are a ricer. So I looked that up on google:https://goo.gl/9Ungnd

It's not that bad is it?

Bad idea, keep the white roof.:D

Tony.

My babies call me worse  but hey, they know best=)). I think it's whatever flicks your switch, it's your car. Not for me personally though.

Ricer would be if you would do that to a 75 bhp golf and add some more spoilers at the some time (certainly on a front wheel drive car)
If you would wrang the hardtop, why not in matt-black

Never heard the term"ricer". Is it what we knew to be a "Gaz" in the late 80''s? Er soz Gaz :D

"Ricer" is the term given to (often heavily) modified Honda/Nissan/JDM cars driven in the US of A.
See Fast and Furious 1-7 for further details...

If you're wrapping it in Carbon; then embrace your inner Ricer!
I think it works well with the color; although I would get them to wrap the 3rd brake light cover and the lower rear valence too.

Its your car, don't worry about what others think...
When I got my top last year I almost did it as a wrap. I ended up painting it to match, mostly because I couldn't find a shop that had done it. and I wasn't sure about leaving the rubber gutters off.
Please let us know what you decide.. :)

If he's ever driven a performance Jap car then he'd know Ricer is a compliment!

Give me a 'ricer' gearshift any day!

OEM BMW....diesel too..

On a Honda it's called rice on a BMW it called M Performance and worth extra money??
Maybe M is short for rice in German?!

Hi,
I just cannot decide what to do about mine.
I bought this silver top a few months ago - I have mixed feelings about it working with an estoril blue car.
So, do I have it painted the same colour as the car, leave it as a contrasting item or do something radical??

Hmmmmm,

Andy.

I'd paint it estoril blue and try out seasonal radical looks with wraps or plastidip, maybe black with a pattern to look like mohair(!) or white complete with racing numbers on white circles on the doors etc!
EB looks nice with a matching top.

I've got a Boston green with oxford green top but I can't find the pic at the moment. I like the contrast! JIM

The trains out West used to have "cow catchers" on them to prevent major damage to the train. You've all seen them before:

When I clicked on @Dobiwallah"s hyperlink, I saw pictures of cars, one of which reminded me of the above 'cow catcher', but perhaps just a
new style:

If you have teenagers they will make sure that you are updated with the language

I will decide when I take the hardtop off in November for the summer, but most likely I put the carbon wrap on.

I like the combination.

I had a light blue top that I bought and painted it to match the car after a few months.View attachment 20714 View attachment 20715

yeah nah, some colors just don't match.

I didn't realize that there were so many replies, I didn't got the reply emails anymore.

Does it mean that this is a ricer too? or is it a riser?

If you want to see if you like it you could for a small investment, try the plastidiped method that @Cooper has used successfully. That way it would be easily removed and a wrap could be applied. I think it would definetly update the look and age of your car. I'm considering the process for my car. JIM
