I have a new OEM window on order. My top is in nearly like-new condition given the super low mileage. fair weather only use and indoor climate-controlled storage. Everything is in great shape (even the window) except that the rubber seal is breaking down.
So, my son and I will be replacing the window. This is helpful. I have two questions. D
1) Can anyone offer more detail on the process of aligning the window/zipper at the start? Is it really obvious or is this somewhat problematic? I watched one video that's mostly speeded up and it looked like they initially zipped in the window, but it had diagonal ripple. They unzipped and rezipped and it looked better. I'm assuming they initially had it mis-aligned.
2) Any more detail on the final step of stitching the zipper closed so that it doesn't come unzipped? How is this done? What did you use for thread? Any tips or tricks?
Also, in the OP, the passenger seat is removed. How hard is this to do? I have an airbag light on, so this might be a good time to fix that too.
