Hi, please can anyone help me to find out if the instrument binnacles across the E36 platforms are inter changeable? They look identical, I've read that one for an Auto may differ but I only need the housing at present so the gauges are irrelevant, as I can swap mine into a new housing and keep the mileage correct.

Thanks, Tony.

been checking this out for you Tony and best i could come up with was a guy asking if the z3 would fit his e36 4 door
he checked his cluster code in real oem for matches and no sign of z3.... dont know if thats any help to you?
what is wrong with yours?

Well this is getting weird. Got the part number off the back of my original cluster 62 10 8379817, popped it into RealOEM and this is what came out:
Part 62108379817 (AT-Instrument cluster, uncoded) was found on the following vehicles:

E36: Details on E36
E36 318is Coupé, Europe
E36 318is Saloon, Europe
E36 320i Touring, Europe
E36 320i Coupé, Europe
E36 320i Saloon, Europe
E36 320i Convertible, Europe
E36 323i Saloon, Europe
E36 323i Convertible, Europe
E36 323i Touring, Europe
E36 323i Coupé, Europe
E36 325i Convertible, Europe
E36 325i Coupé, Europe
E36 325i Saloon, Europe
E36 328i Coupé, Europe
E36 328i Touring, Europe
E36 328i Saloon, Europe
E36 328i Convertible, Europe

So my part number is for both 4cyl and 6cyl models. Strange.

Sorry Dave no nearer yet. Will keep you posted.

Tony.

ps. I'm leaning towards the binnacles are inter changeable TBH.

Well, I'm thinking that if the binnacles are the same then then clocks that screw to the back are the same fitting too?

Tony.

Yes the glass is knackered, long story.

Tony.
