Interior light puzzle

My interior light doesn’t come on when the doors are opened open UNLESS the side and head lights are on
it does work manually without lights on
lighten my darkness please!

do we all love this ?

The door switches are inside the B Post door catches, spray some WD 40 on them and work them by opening and closing the door, they may just be stuck.
 
If anyone is interested, the motorcycle is a BMW R32, their first motorcycle, made from 1923 to 1926 and produced 8.5 bhp at 3300 rpm. The 500 cc engine was based on their earlier M2B15 design, which was sold to various other manufacturers. It was a copy of a Douglas flat twin owned by one of their engineers, Rudolf Schlieser, who was to become a famous figure in the industry.

As to the light issue the switches work fine with the sidelights and head lights on so I’m guessing it’s another problem
Not the end of the world but niggling just the same
I’ll wait for kinder weather and have a poke about
