From time to time you see people trying to sell their cars and they will state that it is RARE.

Really, I am not so sure that there is a rare Z3. Sure there are heaps of "Individual" zeds out there as the factory options list and combinations were almost inexhaustible! But can someone genuinely claim it to be rare?

In Australia there were 8 special edition cars delivered to showrooms in the capital cities. Although they are unique in some ways [like pain colour or with custom wheels] I don't think they could be claimed are RARE - just unique. Even the first and last zed produced, or the car featured in James Bond 007 is unique - not rare.

What do you think?

I agree. I would only say something like the S54's being rare because only 74 were sold in the UK market.

Just another sales tactic more often than not. Occasionally do see a "rare" Zed come up, but not for the reasons they seller normally gives.

A really rare Z3 is one that Stacey hasn't slapped a Z.org card on! Just wait till that motor is fixed there'll be no stopping her.:D

Tony.

Rare, hmmmmm. Sierra Cosworth RS 500, That's rare with only 554 being built most of which have been wrapped round lamp posts. Don't think the Z3 is a "hooligans" car therefore better looked after and with a plentiful supply in the first place.

900 S50 Z3M's and 75 S54 Z3M's Not very high production figures.

Fair shout.
Is that not the UK import numbers? A few more than 74 S54's would have been made in total...

Hang on, I'll check my newly purchased BMW Z3 Buyers Guide....

Oh, it doesn't have any useful numbers in it... =))

Lol yeah these are UK figures.

S54 stats according to Wiki
1600 for the USA LHD
283 for Europe LHD
73 for the UK RHD

That's fairly rare!

Every winter a few Zeds are written off in accidents, so each year the Z3 becomes a little rarer!!!!

BMW Hartge Z3 Coupé 5.0 V8. Hartge has only built one Z3 5.0 V8, so it's very special to see this car! It has a 5 liter V8 and produces a great sound. I had a nice chat to the owner and he told me a lot about the car. For instance, he told me that he had replaced the original Hartge front bumper with a Z3 M front bumper. He wants to keep the original Hartge front bumper nice and clean because there's only one of them.

That is an awesom car and it's pretty famous world over.

I'd have one like Deano's Z with 'proper' V8 and in a proper Z3 body-a roadster, none of this delivery van business!
Also a one off I believe (there are more LS Powered Z's in the US but they are LHD).

I think a dirty V8 suits the meaty feel of these cars.

Mine is also a one off it is the only one I know of with the Reg T900GRA...let me know if you know different but that makes it unique, first million offer secures, cash only and no tyre kickers please...
