Hey everyone. Please can I ask for your guidance towards suspension replacement for my 2001 2.2.

I have been searching for information on suspension upgrades that would give me a 'fresh' feel. I dont need to go low, or racey. I am just after a kit that will be new for old on a reasonable budget.

I've read that there's loads of info here but being new I am kinda not seeing the forest for the trees, so any help is gratefully received... Thank you!!!

I am doing a standard front suspension refresh on mine at the moment.

I got all my parts off of Autodoc using the part number I found from Realoem. Lemforder is widely regarded as the best of the best for aftermarket standard suspension. And it is not overly expensive on there.

I have heard people swapping the front lollipop bushes (wishbone rear mount) for stiffer ones can make quite some difference in turn in. But having not done it myself, I can’t prove it. Hopefully someone will back me up

Monroe shocks are v. popular on here as a good quality but cost effective like-for-like replacement for standard. I put them on the front of mine along with Suplex springs, Lemforder wishbones, Meyle drop links, Febi Bilstein top mounts - all quality kit without the BMW tax and been very happy with it. Kind of wish I'd gone for the original Sachs dampers as they weren't that much more at the time, but they're crazy money now.

I got everything off eBay but Autodoc is many people's go-to - there's some Z3 Bilstein dampers on there atm that look really good value (£85 ish).

Look in the Z shed HQ forum under my car "Ades stunning"...Lee literally transformed the handling and feel of my low mileage Z3 2002 3.0 sport

Rear beam bushes replaced. New standard rubber genuine BMW items installed.

Lollipop bushes replaced with genuine BMW Z3M M3 E36 E 37/7 31129069035

New Sachs shocks all around
