Hi everyone,

Recently on a drive on the highway, the covering for the roll bar bolts on the right side in my 98 Z3 blew off. I've been researching, and I believe it was BMW PN 51-43-8-407-174. Problem is it was discontinued by BMW, and I haven't found any used ones online. If anyone has one they are willing to sell, or know where to get one that would be greatly appreciated.

I think your best bet will be to get one 3d printed. Are both sides the same? If so get your other one scanned and printed. Colour match will be the issue unless ypu find paint in the right or close match.
 
I have both sides of those in my shed. Problem is they are black and I'm about 3,000 miles away.
 
This might be a long shot, but is this something? In the link it says it's for a Z3 Coupe, but when looking up the part number I get parts for a regular Z3. Also do not think there are even rollover bars in a Coupe, but then again I've never been in one.

Obviously not original, but it's something.

Though it probably is 3D printed too, so if you have the skillset you could try making one yourself and getting it printed.
 
After doing some digging it seems that the 51438407174 are for pre-facelift z's, and the part number 51438412364 are for post-facelifts. Looking up the pre-facelift parts indeed return no results, but there are a lot of results for post-facelifts. Ebay.com, Schmiedmann.com and bmwpartsdeal.com all have them.

Not 100% sure if they are the same though, maybe someone could verify, but I doubt they differ much in design.
