@mid life crisis, Gary we won't be joining you now unfortunately.
It's almost 3a.m and we've had no sleep due to the noise, so we've had enough and are heading home.

Hope the weather is good so you can get the roof down and enjoy the day.

Steve.

What and you've stayed in a hotel Steve?

Yes mate but it was more like an asylum than a hotel, would've been quieter on a runway at Heathrow .

We moved to another room at half ten which was no better, it quietened down a bit at half two but by that time we were too wound up to sleep :meh:.

@Bozzy Hi Steve, sorry to hear about you having to abandon your night out but we completely understand think I'd have bailed out a lot earlier.

Well we got really lucky with the weather today, managed roof down all day, thanks to everybody who came today really enjoyed the company.
think we may make the route a regular event,.....with additional toilet stops for us men of a certain age:whistle:
Happy year everyone:drinks:

Stop picking on Niall. He can't help being old. Glad you all enjoyed the day and the weather was kind.

He wasn't the only one who dived in the bushes when we found a layby

We had a similar issue several years ago in Florida before we bought the villa. We were staying at a Ho Jo on the 192 in Kissimmee and our room backed onto the elevator foyer on the 2nd floor. This was around Easter, a time when school marching bands are staying in the area and performing at Walt Disney World. Just before midnight as we were in the land of nod all hell broke out when these kids arrived back to their hotel, our hotel! After complaining to the front desk (we had no idea what all the rucuss was about) they said "What would you like us to do about it?"
So I told him, in no uncertain terms. Needless to say we complained about the managers attitude to the chain head office, who were equally unconcerned. They will never take any money from us again, even recently we could've stayed at hotel of theirs up in Pensacola, no chance.
Sorry to hear it spoiled your weekend away @Bozzy and Sara.

Tony.

Sorry to have let you down Gary :shy:.
We were really looking forward to it, even more so with the weather looking good.
If we did stay I would have been in a grump all day through lack of sleep, then had to drive home at the end of the day from south Wales in the dark.

Anyway, pleased to read the day was an enjoyable success ........next time all being well ;).

I don't know if it's just me mate but it seems people have no thought or respect for anyone, not even for themselves :(.
Certainly would never use travel lodge again. I know it's a budget chain but so is premier inn. Only ever had one less than perfect stay there.

Thought about putting in a complaint but that won't put right what's been spoiled.

All the more reason to complain Steve. The management do have a duty of care to ALL their guests to provide a restful environment, if they failed in that duty then they failed you. Bloody well complain mate, it's something we Brits don't do enough of.

Tony.

Just arrived home after a brief work-related stop in Brum. Big thanks to all for an excellent day out - great company, nice cars, and a really good route!
