Rear window fabric dislodging

If you find after tucking it in under the window bead it persistantly comes back out then running a thin bead of black silicone sealant will do the trick. This is best done with the roof unlatched to release the tension on the rear window and then left to dry before fastening it back up so a garage is handy.

This is a common problem, it has happened on both Zeds I have owned and the fix is as Aceman has said above.

You can get the black silicon dealent off eBay or halfords and use a lolly stick to lift the rubber lip, push the fabric under and run a bead of silicon under.
With the roof open (2 inches is all you need to release the tension) the fabric should stay put whilst the silicon dries. You will need to leave it overnight to dry.
Its pretty common as the rubber gripper built into the rear window looses some of its grip over the years ;-)

A credit card or similar is an effective tool to use

The main trick is releasing the hood tension and allowing the sealant to dry before fastening it all back up again. :-bd

I used black simply because if you get any oozing, the black is less visible.Boysie said:

I used the clear bathroom varity as it has the fungacide in it and will not go mouldy, did it a year ago, with the credit card,, no problems since, mod as above works :-bd

Over time the fabric of the roof does shrink and tends to pull away at the corners of the rear window, I ended up using a trimmer to sort my 'corner' out at hardly any expense
Trimmer was Pete Lenton tel 0161 485 2464 or 07768302428 based in Stockport, small outfit but produce quality work. :-bd
