Ps can't wait too see it in the flesh, I really like the wheels and I'm sure camera cannot capture a colour as dynamic as that. Lowering will make a bid difference, the Z just seems to get wider with a bit of lowering.
 
I had falken fk452 on mine with 18" wheels and it tramlined like a good un very dangerous at high speed! Wheels look good five spokes suit the zed very well and when you get them springs on it'll complete it!
 
The 452s are directional, and the replacement 453's are uni directional. It could be he ran on the 452's and didn't like them. I never had complaints with 452s on either set of my 18s. It's the usual tyres being a personal preference I'd guess.

I will say that when then Nexens where new they felt very slippy initially. A donut or two and some very hard braking soon took the slippery stuff and they felt very good thereafter.

I think part of what you are feeling is also increased sensitivity from the bigger wheels and lower profile tyres too - the jump from 16's to 18's very significant I find. It's a very different ride from 'balloon' sidewalks to the 'rubber bands' on the 18's.
In the dry I prefer the 18's for sure but in the wet/b roads the smaller wheels win for me, the price we pay for good looks!

I think you've hit the nail on the head there Dino. Give them time and get used to the different "feel" of the car Sean and then see what you think. My Z4 felt "different" after fitting my 18" 108's but I'm now used to them .

Thanks for the input guys, its really appreciated, I did a couple of hundred miles yesterday blasting around the wold and the love is back:D, still tram lining but I am getting used to it, just seems that the drive is a bit of a battle and not as leisurely as it used to be, it will take a while to get my confidence in the tyres just because they are new or was, had both rears smoking yesterday just to scrub them a little bit ;)
 
@Sean d you have to "drive" a Z3 Sean and I just see it as part of the experience. It's like owning a cat in one respect, you just never know when it's going to bite

To be honest I think the camera makes it look more dynamic then it actually is

This is very true and although tramlining is/can be a problem I think sometimes new tyres and suspension giving extra grip and road holding makes you think it's worse than it really is. Keep on smokin' :thumbsup::D

Just before Xmas I did some work on an old Alpha Sud and the customer is a chap in his 70s, he travels all over Europe in his little Sud, whilst he was in the shop he showed some interest in my Z, one of his comments was, "If your going to travel through Europe your going to need a boot rack" Today he gave me this, I'm actually really pleased with it, It will only get used if needed as I'm not that keen on them but nice to have just in case.

I had an Alpha Sud Ti cloverleaf, he is a brave guy relying on that round Europe.
