Visited Newark Air Museum today. Two planes of particular interst to me were the Fairy Gannet and the Buccaneer.
In 1966 when I was a Dockyard Apprentice, I witnessed these flying from HMS Victorious. The Buccaneer was launched by steam catapult, along with a 1000lb bomb which it later dropped into the sea. The Gannet was able to take off from the flight deck with the ship travelling at full speed. All very exciting for an 18 year old.

When I first got the zed the first meet I had was there. Good place to visit Alan.

Today was cooking/baking day at Midlands and Shirl said it might take all day. I said, "You're going to need a bigger mixer" .

A bit of a waste, Alan, dropping the bomb in the sea, they're not exactly cheap to chuck away!!!! Sandy

Looks like a great day ahead. Really looking forward now. See you all Sunday.

We don't hear anything from them nowadays, despite reaching out to them, it was sad as Mark just kept finding reasons not to take part anymore, he stopped using his Zed over two years ago, although we believe he still has it!
