Strut tower brace

I think the consensus is that it will be a marginal improvement but only as long as you have also taken care of the other areas that introduce play into the handling..e.g worn bushes. A brace won’t solve issues with running 20+ year old rubber on your car. Mike Fishwick’s 2 articles are very good if you’ve not read them linked above.

I'm not saying these things have no function. They do.

Many 'improvements' can certainly take half a second of a track/stage time. Not something I'd notice on a leisurely run round the brecon beacons. Even if I was on a track I wouldn't have the skill to get that half second anyway.
