Event Tonys funeral - Friday 20th June

Hi all, for anyone attending tomorrow:

Shirl would like anyone going in their zed to make a formation behind Gary in Tonys Zed who will be behind the Limousine for the journey from the church to Doddington Hall for the wake. It is impossible to make a formation going in so please just make your own routes in.

We have already been warned that parking at the church is an issue but if anyone in their zed could try and park close together it would make it easier when leaving. Anyone not in a Zed will be asked to hang back for the zeds to leave first.

If you look at the above map Shirl has suggested parking on the purple line near the red crosses, hopefully this makes sense!

See you all tomorrow, wish the circumstances were nicer 😕

Dave, please pass on my apologies to Shirl, and to the rest of the Zedders as unfortunately this time, I'm unable to be bringing up the rear as per.

I'll raise a glass to Tony tomorrow evening. .

Hi Dave, as you know, we can't attend Tony's funeral tomorrow, but just to let you know we'll be thinking about you all.

Will be thinking of you all tomorrow, so sorry I couldn't make it myself due to previous engagements here at the Zedshed Cymru, I know Tony would understand. Phil Baxter can represent the rest of us Zedders from down her in South Wales as I know he is attending.

Just a heads up, anyone coming from Newark direction, there has been a bad accident at the McDonald's island and it's causing havoc throughout the area. If you can avoid, I suggest you do. 👍

Yes indeed that under different circumstances would havr been a lovely day. Perfect tranquil English setting, perfect weather and a great turnout. Even his Rt Hon Baron Hailsham of Kettlethorpe came out to see what the hoi polloi were up to. I addressed him as plain old Mr Hogg which he confirmed he was indeed. Asked if it was o.k to park in front of his hall (country pile) despite the 'private' notice he confirmed absolutely and, went on to say we can use the field by the hall if running out of room, I thought that was jolly decent of him.
Carla, Tony & Shirleys daughter who they lost in December 1994 is buried next to Tony, they can have a good catch up now.

Couldn't have had a better send off.

We had an horrendous journey to St Peter’s & St Paul’s church at Kettlethorpe, so glad we persisted. The undertakers staff were so kind when we arrived and ushered us in to the packed church.
It speaks well of T-Tony that he was so well loved on this forum as so many had made the effort to attend. It was a sad service, though the eulogy captured the essence of Tony’s life. He was a special man to so many.
After the service we participated in the cruise to Doddington Hall for his Wake, again nice to catch up with old friends.
Mike and Sandy.
