We have a Focus which is £620 this year!
The Z3 is £430 this year.
My Audi is also £620 this year.

£1,670 just in RFL for three cars. My daughter's Polo is £20. Good old UK Government being fair to everyone (that was sarcastic BTW).

My council tax is £3,700 this year. So I make that just shy of £4,500 in tax before any 'proper' tax on earnings. And of course the tax on fuel can be added to that. Oh and insurance tax. And VAT is added to everything we buy for cars.
But apparently the Government are skint! I seem to be helping them quite a bit TBH.

It’s worse than that. You pay the council tax after income has already been taxed. I’ve never understood why the British aren’t up in arms over this double-dipping scam.

Yes, it's all tax on 'taxed income'.

What really annoys me with Council Tax, is that the Gov (and other people) presume because I live in a fairly big house I 'must' be able to afford the extortionate tax. I don't earn very much but have worked extremely hard to get to a position to live in a nice house. You do that and they tax you higher purely on the size of your house. No means testing whatsoever.
It really is ironic that the Poll Tax was hated because it was 'unfair'. I don't see the alternative being any fairer TBH.

Same with RFL. My daughter's 10 year old petrol Polo chugs out about 70% of the CO2 of my Z3 (and actually MORE than both of our newer cars). Yet it is taxed at less than 5% of the cost of the Z3 and less than 3% of the other two. All because of 'green' policies which kept changing.
